The Bible And Preaching

The unsaved and the saved both need the Bible and Bible preaching.

John 6:44: No man can come to me, except the Father which hath sent me draw him: and I will raise him up at the last day. 65: And he said, Therefore said I unto you, that no man can come unto me, except it were given unto him of my Father.

John 14:6: Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.

God uses the Bible and Bible preaching to save men. Those are the things by which He draws them to Jesus, to Himself and to Salvation. If men reject the Bible and Bible preaching, they will never be saved. If you are saved, you are responsible for doing everything you possibly can to see to it that others are exposed to the Bible and to Bible preaching.

Romans 10:13: For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. 14 How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? and how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard? and how shall they hear without a preacher? 15 And how shall they preach, except they be sent? as it is written, How beautiful are the feet of them that preach the gospel of peace, and bring glad tidings of good things! 16 But they have not all obeyed the gospel. For Esaias saith, Lord, who hath believed our report? 17 So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God. 18 But I say, Have they not heard? Yes verily, their sound went into all the earth, and their words unto the ends of the world.

James 1:21: Wherefore lay apart all filthiness and superfluity of naughtiness, and receive with meekness the engrafted word, which is able to save your souls.

1 Corinthians 1:21: For after that in the wisdom of God the world by wisdom knew not God, it pleased God by the foolishness of preaching to save them that believe.

2 Timothy 3:15: And that from a child thou hast known the holy scriptures, which are able to make thee wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus.

If you are saved you are to expose yourself and others to the Bible. That means you will study it, attend a Biblical church and hear it preached and taught as much as possible. Someone will have to support that church in prayer and financially. That someone is you.

John 17:17: Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth.

The Bible will sanctify you. What does it mean to be sanctified? It means that the Bible will set you apart from the life you formerly lived in which you were unconcerned about the Bible and Bible preaching. It means that you who never had any interest in the eternal destiny of men will now be concerned about that.

If you are not deeply into the Bible, you are either not saved or you are a weak oddball Christian who is out of the will of God.
